Cherokee HS Welcomes Back Warriors!

The new home of Cherokee High School welcomed its Warriors today for a walk-through and meet-and-greet event in advance of Monday’s first day of classes. Thousands of students and their families explored the campus, where they were greeted by teachers and staff. Students practiced their schedules and checked their bus times, parents signed up for PTA and purchased spirit wear, and school business and community partners shared information and giveaways with students in the courtyard. School Board member Dr. Susan Padgett-Harrison and Board member-elect Hayden Holcomb joined the CHS team in welcoming students and families.  Within budget and open on time, the School Board-approved new campus at 1500 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. funded by our Education-SPLOST, replaces our school district’s oldest high school, which opened in 1956.
