Congratulations to our CCSD School Nurse of the Year!

Congratulations to our CCSD School Nurse of the Year!

Congratulations to our CCSD School Nurse of the Year Andrea Hamm of Creekview High School!

The Jami Stefano School Nurse of the Year Award for overall excellence was announced at today’s back-to-school training for all our school nurses. The awards program, which recognizes an outstanding school nurse for each Innovation Zone and an overall district winner, was developed with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, a CCSD Partner.

CCSD School Nurse of the Year presentation

“We are on a mission for kids to learn more, grow more, and achieve more, and they can’t do it if they’re not well. You are a catalyst for joy and optimism in your school. I recognize your complex days, and I thank you for how you do your work with so much care,” Superintendent of Schools Mary Elizabeth Davis said as she celebrated all our school nurses at this morning’s event, where she was joined by School Board Chair Janet Read Welch.

We're on a mission to be the highest-performing school district in Georgia -- and the district known for its contagious optimism and joy!

"What really stands out about Andrea is how much she cares," Principal Mark Vance said. "Students know she's not just there to treat them and send them on their way, she listens, she reassures, and she makes them feel safe. That matters more than people realize, especially for teenagers who may already be dealing with a lot. She's also a great partner to our staff and families. She communicates clearly, follows through, and is always willing to step in and help wherever needed. Our school runs better because of her."
