The Cherokee County School District’s newly published Annual Report of District Progress offers the community a snapshot of the past year’s successes.

“Just as corporations report to their stakeholders, we publish our Annual Report to show our community how we’re delivering on our promises and serving as good stewards of the resources entrusted to us,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said.  “Our School Board and I are so proud of our students and grateful for our teachers and staff, families and business partners, and our entire community for investing in their future success.”

The two-page publication, which is posted online at on CCSD’s website, highlights CCSD’s outstanding performance above State and National levels on various performance- and survey-based metrics.

While the majority of the report’s data was shared with the community as it was received over the past nine months, new information includes the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement school district profile update, which shows that CCSD is performing better than 90% of all school systems in Georgia.  Another addition is a cumulative look at Milestones test scores, as 2019 was the fifth year the tests were administered statewide; the data shows CCSD students have made significant gains in most subject areas across all grade levels.

The report also showcases CCSD’s financials, including its Financial Efficiency Star Rating of 4.5 stars rating in recognition of its excellent return on investment (only three districts in Georgia scored higher).  CCSD also remains in the lowest 10% in the state for general administration costs.
