February is Black History Month and today we would like to recognize Barrack Obama. In 1991 Obama became a civil rights attorney and part-time lecturer at the University of Chicago. Five years later he was elected to the Illinois senate where he reformed ethics and health care laws. Not long after that he was elected to represent Illinois in the United States senate. Obama’s passionate, charismatic speeches and his dedication helped him become America’s first black president in 2008. In 2009 he received the Nobel Peace Prize for his outreach in international relations.
