Have you earned your letter and do you want a letter jacket? Neff will be at our school Nov. 1st (Thursday)–during all 4 lunches in the café! Now is the time to be fitted to see what size letter jacket that you need, bring your letter and then order your jacket… so it’ll be here in time for Christmas! It’s red ribbon week this week which means it’s time to start getting educated on the effects of the harmful contents you may be putting into your body.
HEY! If you do drugs or have thought about involving yourself with drugs it’s time to stop because young people who use marijuana before age 18 suffer a permanent average loss of 8 IQ points. If you plan on going to college or even graduating high school, it may be time to consider the fact that you may be decreasing the chances of doing so. Keep in mind UGA, doesn’t take below a 30 on those ACTs!
Dress to help promote drug awareness this week, your themes are:
Monday: Camo Out (make drugs disappear)
Tuesday: Jersey Day (my team is drug free)
Wednesday: Wear your Halloween Costume to School (say boo to drugs) – don’t cover your face with costume
Thursday: Dress as a Superhero (superheroes don’t do drugs)
Friday: White Out (erase drugs)
Make sure to make your way to the auditorium during your lunch period on Monday and Friday to listen to a guest speaker share their testimony and stories in relation to drug usage in Georgia.
Don’t forget to sign the red ribbon week banner in the lunchroom during your lunch period!
If you sign the banner and make an appearance at a TedTalk during your lunch period, you may enter in a raffle for a chance to win a gift card to some of your favorite places, so don’t miss out on that opportunity!
Our first guest speaker will be from the Davis Direction Foundation on Monday, hope to see you there!
Hang tough, don’t puff!
