It’s the final day of red ribbon week which means it’s time to get educated on the effects of the harmful contents you may be putting into your body.

If you do drugs or have thought about involving yourself with drugs you should know this first: North America continues to experience the highest drug-related mortality rate in the world, accounting for 1-in-4 drug-related deaths globally. Why would we want to represent the United States like this? We can alter this statistic and act in a way where our country is seen in a positive light.

Make sure to make your way to the auditorium during your lunch period today to listen to a guest speaker share their testimony and stories in relation to drug usage in Georgia.

Don’t forget to sign the red ribbon week banner in the lunchroom during your lunch period!

If you sign the banner and make an appearance at a TedTalk during your lunch period, you may enter in a raffle for a chance to win a gift card to some of your favorite places, so don’t miss out on that opportunity!

Thank you for participating in Red Ribbon Week. I hope you have learned a few things to help alter your life decisions. If you or someone you know struggles with drug usage or addiction, you can call 1-800-662-4357for help and go to samhsa.gov for more information.

It is time to be the change you wish to see in the world. Help raise drug awareness.

There is no excuse for drug abuse.
