If your child has been invited to be recognized at a School Board Meeting:
The Cherokee County Board of Education meets regularly at:
The Dr. Frank R. Petruzielo Educational Services Facility
1205 Bluffs Parkway
Canton, GA 30114
The Dr. Frank R. Petruzielo Educational Services Facility is accessible off of Riverstone Parkway near exit 20 of I-575. Riverstone Boulevard (the turn between McDonald's and soon-to-be new Chick-fi-A) turns into Bluffs Parkway. The building is located across the street from the Cherokee County Government Administration Building and Northside Hospital Cherokee Conference Center.
All School Board meetings begin at 7 p.m. sharp. Recognitions are one of the first items on the agenda (the “A” items), so plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early. Parking is available in front of the auditorium/training center (the one-story building in the front when you come in the entrance drive). Seating is not reserved or designated unless specified by signage, so please sit where you would like.
When your child’s name is called, he or she will proceed to the front of the auditorium where the Superintendent and School Board members will shake hands and offer congratulations. After recognitions, a brief recess will be called so that those who do not wish to stay for the rest of the meeting can leave.
All School Board meetings are digitally recorded and available on the CCSD website 24 hours after the meeting, so you can share the link to the video with family and friends. The “Current School Board Meeting Video” link can be found at www.cherokeek12.net/board-of-education/school-board-meeting-video
Note: Some School Board meetings are preceded by a work session of the Superintendent and Board. These sessions are open to the public and you are welcome to be seated in the auditorium and listen to the discussion.
