High School Students Succeed at Statewide Career Skills Competition!

Twenty-three high school students from throughout CCSD participated in the State competition.

The Cherokee County School District saw great success at the 2019 Career and Technical Instruction State Leadership Conference with 23 students competing and one earning a top-three win!

The students, who are from Cherokee HS, Etowah HS, River Ridge HS and Woodstock HS, competed in events in fields including Agriculture Science, Computer Applications, Woodworking, Floriculture, Occupational Creative Thinking, Video Production, Graphic Arts, Catering, Food Table Prep, and Most Improved Person.

Sophomore Morgan Atchley of Cherokee High School earned third place in the State in the Floriculture competition.  Morgan impressed the judges with her knowledge, professionalism and presentation skills.  She will be recognized by the Cherokee County School Board and Superintendent of Schools at the School Board’s May 16 meeting.

Michael DeBruce, Kaitlyn Flowers and Addison Wacaster of Cherokee High School all were State finalists in Occupational Creative Thinking, and Jared Allred of Etowah HS was a State finalist in Computer Applications.
