  • Explore the option of Dual Enrollment!  The Cherokee County School District would like to welcome any students and parents who are interested in learning more about Dual Enrollment to our annual information nights.  If you missed the meeting at Etowah on Thursday, you can still attend the meeting on:

November 11th, 2019 in the Sequoyah High School Auditorium from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

 

  • Do you want to have a voice at Etowah?  Do you like to write or take pictures?  Looking for a creative outlet?  Then the Newspaper Club is for you.  Come to our next meeting on Tuesday, November 12th.  The newspaper club will meet promptly after school in Mrs. Loversky’s room, Etowah East 118.  Come be part of the Talon:  the Voice of Eagle Mountain.

 

 

 

  • Friends’ Club Dessert Party

  • HoPe Club: Our next meeting is on Thursday, November 14, EE110 @ 3:30.  The Hispanic Heritage Dance was a success.  Thanks to all the members who brought food or drinks, and to all who attended.  YOU made it a special event.  Please remember to drop off your SWAE donations at EE110 (tooth brushes and toothpaste) or bring them to the meeting.  HoPe to see on Thursday, November 14.  

 

 

 

 

  • Juniors and Seniors!

Etowah will be holding Apply to College Day, Friday, Nov 15th during lunch periods in the College Resource Center (this is located under the stairs by the counseling office).  Students are encouraged to attend and visit representatives from Chattahoochee Tech, Coastal Georgia, Georgia Gwinnett, Georgia Highlands, Georgia Southern, Reinhardt, & Valdosta State.  Some schools will be waiving their application fees. It will be extremely easy to apply or to start the process for any school you like and not just the represented schools.

 

 

 

  • Interested in traveling abroad and perfecting your photography skills? Mrs. Yunker and Mrs. Mason will be leading an international tour during summer 2021. Attend the Destination Reveal party November 22nd at 7:45 AM  in the Video Lab, room 1104, to find out where they are going and how you can go, too!

 

  • Any girls who could not attend the interest meeting for girls soccer, please see Coach Alexander in the New Gym for important information

 

  • Track and Field: Conditioning for track season will begin Dec 2nd, directly after school. It will run Mon-Thur from 3:45-5:15pm every week through the end of the semester and resume again following the start of 2nd semester on Jan 7th. Any students interested in participating need to see Coach Hurlbert or Coach Minnifield. Official season begins on Jan 13th. Students must have a current physical submitted to the athletic office to participate

 

 

  • Did you apply to be a mentor with Shop with an Eagle? Make sure you are checking your SCHOOL EMAIL ACCOUNT daily for announcements and fundraising instructions. Remember – ALL FUNDRAISING MUST BE COMPLETED BY NOVEMBER 21. Are you interested in supporting Shop with an Eagle? Consider purchasing a Spirit bracelet before school for $1. These will be available around the front desk at EEC and in the main campus cafeteria. Believe in the magic…Support Shop with an Eagle!

  • The Fellowship of Christian Athletes

meets every Friday in the auditorium at 7:30am.  All students are welcome for this time of music, encouragement, and fellowship.

 

  • ETOWAH SENIORS: The 2019-2020 Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA) is now available online for you to complete. If you need more information and have additional questions, Etowah will host a Paying for College Night led by Georgia Student Finance Commission on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the EHS Auditorium. Please join us as we learn new information concerning the FAFSA and Hope & Zell Miller Scholarship application processes.

 

  • Order your Yearbook now while they are still just $85.. After January 17th they will be $90. They can be purchased online at https://www.yearbookordercenter.com with access code 2061.

 

  • Science Olympiad meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. There are still a few spots available if anyone is interested in their quest for GOLD. Please contact either Paul Peterson  or Jennifer Corbett for more details.

 

  • The Etowah Young Republicans Club meets every other Thursday after school in room 1207 until 4:00. We do discussions, debates, Kahoot games, educational information, service, and other awesome things to help students become ambassadors for the conservative movement in the community.

The Etowah Cross Country program is teaming up with LoveLikeReed, Inc. to host a charity 5k event in the memory of our former student, Reed Schonberger. All proceeds will go towards supporting Etowah, Booth and Bascomb in efforts to help the students cope with stress, anxiety, depression and overall mental health. The event is Nov 17, 2019 at 1:00pm right here at Etowah HS. Registration info can be found in the above flyer.
