Fall Festival

It's almost time for the PTA Fall Festival! Join us on Friday, October 26, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. You won't want to miss the fun and games! Bounce in the inflatables, visit the science tent, put your friends in "jail", and more! Tickets are $0.40 if purchased by Wednesday, October 24th. Tickets purchased at Fall Festival will be $0.50.

Pumpkin Voting

Fall Festival pumpkin voting will take place next week! Students can pay $0.25 during lunch to vote for their favorite pumpkins from October 22 - 26. Students can vote for as many pumpkins and on as many days as they want! All proceeds will be donated to the Goshen Valley Boys Ranch.

CCSD School Clinics Benefit from Northside Hospital Cherokee Support CCSD NHC Donation 10 17 18

Thanks to the support of partner Northside Hospital Cherokee, the Cherokee County School District received EpiPens at no cost for all of its schools!  The cost of the pens – auto-injectors that can be life-saving in cases of serious allergic reaction - was waived by manufacturer, Mylan, as part of its EpiPen4Schools program.  CCSD’s participation in the program was made possible by NHC Dr. Matthew Simmons, who wrote prescriptions for each school’s clinic.

More Cherokee County School District Class of 2018 students took the ACT exam than any previous class, while maintaining impressive averages and exceeding National and State averages!

Results released today show the Class of 2018 posted an excellent overall score of 23, while a record number took the challenging college entrance and placement examination: 1,809 students -- an 11-percent increase from the previous year.  The score ranks CCSD third among metro Atlanta counties and seventh in Georgia – out of 180 school districts!

The Cherokee County School District next week will host a PTA-sponsored program for parents on drug addiction and prevention with guest speakers including Cherokee Sheriff Frank Reynolds.

1st Grade Sound Lesson

On Friday, October 12th, first grade students were treated to a special sound lesson with Mrs. Brennan's grandfather, better known as FaFa! The students loved learning about how sound travels, singing songs, and seeing all of the things that FaFa brought to show them!

The Sixes Breakfast Raffle starts this week! Purchase breakfast from October 9th through October 26th and receive a raffle ticket. Keep your ticket(s) and on October 26th the winning ticket will receive 2 hours of free bowling w/free shoe rental for up to 10 guests! The more days you eat breakfast the better your chances are to win. Remember....breakfast is brain food!

It's time to order a 2018-2019 Sixes Elementary School Yearbook!

  • Pre-order Price: $35 until 12/31/18
  • Pre-order Price: $45 from 1/1/19 - 4/1/19
  • Pre-order sale ends on 4/1/19
  • Price: $60 for any yearbooks purchased at the school after the April 1, 2019 deadline. These yearbooks will be sold on a first come, first serve basis in May 2019.

CCSD's "Kickin' It With Kale" for Farm to School Month! Jaxsen Waldrop and Kale

CCSD is participating in Georgia’s Farm to School month celebration with special menu items including a Kickin’ it with Kale salad on Wednesday!  

The fresh kale, cranberry and apple salad will be available throughout CCSD cafeterias as a side choice at lunch on Wednesday, with students encouraged to try kale, a vegetable that may be new to them.
