What is the technology policy for Teasley Middle School?

I would like to request that my child be with a certain teacher, or in classes with his/her friend, can you accommodate this request? 

 

o    We are unable to accommodate requests for specific teachers. 

 

I wanted my child to be in a specific Connections class, but it is not on their schedule. What do I do? 

 

o    The schedule that your child will receive is only for the first quarter of the school year.  Each quarter, students will change their Connections classes.  If they don’t have the one you wanted during the first quarter, they may have it later in the school year. 

 

My child’s schedule is missing a course, or the level of course is wrong.   What do I do? 

 

o    If your child is missing a course that they should have on their schedule, or the level of course is wrong, please email the grade level administrator.

o    Please note that we will only honor level changes for students who were already approved for the appropriate level but were incorrectly placed. 

 

What are the drop-off and pickup times for car riders? 

 

o    Students may begin entering the building at 7:45am. Once students arrive, they will report to the gym unless they want to eat breakfast. Students who want to eat breakfast will report to the cafeteria upon entering the building. 

o    Important – any student who wishes to eat breakfast must report directly to the Café before heading to their designated area.   

o    The school day ends at 3:30pm and all students must be picked up no later than 4:00pm

 

Where can I find back to school supply lists? 

 

o    Visit our School Supply Lists page for more information. 

 

Where can I get information for Free and Reduced Lunch?  (The on-line process is much quicker than the paper forms.) 

 

o    Visit LunchApplication, the electronic application for free and reduced priced meals 

o    Forms will also be available in the Cafeteria during Walk Throughs 

 

How do I sign up for Canvas and Canvas alerts – including text messages? 

 

o    Please see the CCSD Parent Account Instructions 

 

Where can I get my First Day Forms? 

 

o    First Day Forms will be completed using the Cherokee County Back to School Gateway. Information on logging in and completing the forms will be provided by homeroom teachers both during our Walkthroughs and on the first day of school. 

o    Other Teasley specific forms will be sent home with your student on the first day of school. 

 

When are my bus pick-up and departure times? 

 

o    Visit CCSD’s Bus Stop Look-Up site  

o    Also, during Walk Throughs we will have computer stations set up in the Media Center and folks to help you to look up bus info. 

 

Is there a location for the Student Discipline Code? 

 

o    Yes, please download it here: 2021-22 Student Discipline Code  

o    Your child will sign for and receive a hard copy of this booklet on the first day of school as well. 

o    Also be sure to reference the 2021-22 Student Parent Handbook located on the same page. 

 

When is Curriculum Night this Year? 

 

o    Our Curriculum Night will be virtual this year to better accommodate parents’ schedules.  We will send out more information as the date gets closer – typically early September. 

 

Will my child have a locker? 

 

o    Locker’s will be available upon request.  However, there will not be a dedicated time for students to stop at their locker throughout the day.  Students may access them before school and after school. 

o    Students will be allowed to use a bookbag to transport their notebooks and supplies to and from home each day.   Students are also allowed to use their bookbag during class to ensure that they have the items they need during the day.   

o    Most classes use a class set of textbooks.  These textbooks are stored in the classroom daily and students are not required to carry them.   

o    Teachers will work with students to minimize the amount of supplies or items needed during class.    

 

Can my child bring a water bottle to school? 

 

o    YES!  We encourage all students to bring a water bottle to school this year as our water fountains have been replaced with bottle filling stations. 

o    Please make sure your child’s name is clearly marked on the bottle. 

 

Does TMS have a dress code? 

 

o    YES!  Please review dress code protocols in the 2021-22 Student Discipline Code. It is not our goal to make anyone uncomfortable or upset by asking him or her to call home or change clothes.  We must, however, maintain a school climate that limits distractions.  Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for school. 

 

What are the CCSD meal prices for the 2020-2021 school year? 

 

o    At this time, The USDA has announced that there will be NO CHARGE for student breakfasts or lunches for the 2021-2022 school-year. If this changes, please note lunch prices listed below: 

o    Elementary School    Breakfast $1.60      Lunch $2.45 

o    Middle School           Breakfast $1.60      Lunch $2.70 

o    High School               Breakfast $1.60      Lunch $2.70       Grill Line $3.75 

o    Adult/Staff                 Breakfast $2.00      Lunch $3.75       Grill Line $4.50
