CCSD High School 2022 Summer School will be offered from June 6 – June 24, 2022 with options for Credit Recovery and Initial Credit as detailed below.  

In addition to offering courses for students who need to retake classes not passed during the regular school year, Personal Fitness and Health courses will be offered to rising ninth-graders (and others who may need it) for initial high school credit.  Courses will be held online and in person.  Registration begins April 25 using this link: Summer School Registration 21-22

Credit Recovery

  • Facilitated by a certified teacher
  • Math Credit Recovery offered in person at Woodstock HS (for Etowah, River Ridge and Woodstock students) and Cherokee HS (for Cherokee, Creekview and Sequoyah students)
    • Semester A courses (8:00 am-12:00 pm)
    • Semester B courses (12:30 pm – 4:30 pm)
  • English/Language Arts, Science and Social Studies Credit Recovery classes offered fully digitally
    • In person teacher support (10:00 am-2:00 pm) at Woodstock HS (for Etowah, River Ridge and Woodstock students) and Cherokee HS (for Cherokee, Creekview and Sequoyah students)
    • Virtual teacher support (8:00 am -8:00 pm)
  • Students may register for a maximum of 2 courses.
  • There is no registration fee.  Students may be assessed a fee at a later day for an incomplete course.

Personal Fitness and Health:  Initial Credit   

Cherokee County School District will offer an opportunity for rising ninth-graders (and others in need) to take Personal Fitness (in person; 8:00am – 12:00 pm) and Health (in person; 12:30pm – 4:30 pm) at two locations: Cherokee HS (for Cherokee, Creekview and Sequoyah students) and Woodstock HS (for Etowah, River Ridge and Woodstock students).  The cost is $200 per class/half unit of credit.  Registration and payment will be online at Summer School Registration 21-22  Registration and payment is due by May 27, 2022.

GENERAL INFORMATION:  Both Health and Personal Fitness will be offered “in person” at Cherokee High School and Woodstock High School. There must be an adequate number of students registered for a course before it will be offered. When an inadequate number of students are registered for a specific course at both locations, efforts will be made to merge the students into one course and the course will be housed at the campus where a majority of the students have registered for the course.  Students will be notified by the Summer School Administrator if there are an inadequate number of students registered to offer a course or if students need to be merged to form a course on one campus. 

Students who elect to enroll in Summer School understand the following:
•    Each course is worth .5 unit of credit.
•    A student may take both Personal Fitness and Health. 
•    Each summer school course is 60 hours of course work completed over 15 days.
•    Course work must be completed within the Summer School window. 
•    Attendance is mandatory for these courses. 
•    Breakfast and lunch will be provided to students on campus. 

TUITION: $200.00 per course. Registration must be completed, and all fees paid in full by May 27, 2022. 

REFUNDS: Summer School is a 15-day program with a rigorous curriculum. Be sure this is appropriate forum for your child’s success.  


ATTENDANCE: Students are expected to attend classes until all course requirements have been met. If a student is absent from class, the students will be dropped from the course.  

TRANSPORTATION: Transportation is not provided.  Please note the times below.

Student Pick Up Ends
Personal Fitness:  12:15 pm
Health:  4:45 pm

Please ensure that you provide transportation within the timeframe indicated above.

RULES: All Cherokee County School District rules and regulations, including dress code, will apply during Summer School. Students reporting to campus must comply with the dress code. Every student has received a copy of the Student/Parent Handbook at their home school which includes the Cherokee County Student Offense and Discipline Procedures. VIOLATIONS OF RULES WHICH REQUIRE SUSPENSION DURING THE REGULAR SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE GROUNDS FOR SUMMER SCHOOL DISMISSAL AND MAY ALSO IMPACT THE 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR.
